my first reaction was that this had to be a miscommunication.
from reading some of the comments it seems some divers actually do this.
i personally have never heard of anyone doing this, and have never been asked to do this. further, i see no point in doing it.
i understand the request to do a "hot drop" under certain circumstances. but there is no need to literally use your mouth the suck every last drop of air out of your wing or bcd.
if for some reason you feel the need to make sure the bladder is completely empty, why not just submerge it in the water while holding open the deflate valve before you assemble your gear? that will push all remaining gas out.
our shop teaches students to wet their bcd straps anyway before assembling their gear, so it would be quite simple.
as far as the other topic of breathing gas from a bcd in an emergency......if it came down to it, i think the last thought in your mind right before you pass out would not be whether you might get a lung infection if you were to take in some of the gas in your bladder. but lets try to make sure it doesn't come to that.
