Getting more comfortable with current diving and better at negative descents

If you are concerned about the possibility of being separated from your group, you might consider diving with a PLB in addition to other safety gear that you carry. When diving in the ocean, I always assume there is the possibility of getting separated, so I carry my Inreach Mini and/or ACR PLB. At least I will have ways to help rescue assets find me.
 
Practice negative descents when you do not need to do a negative descent. Just let those you are diving with know what you are doing so they know you are being a dirt dart on purpose.
