Last night I got my hands on my new Hammerhead plate and harness kit. I got my plate rigged up last night, following the three how-to webpages commonly referenced here. It's awsome. However... I've got three pieces of harness hardware left over. Two serated keepers and a small loop of small-diameter bungie chord.

Here's how I used my harness hardware:
Keeper and D-ring on each shoulder strap.
Keeper and D-ring on left side waist.
Keeper and D-ring on back of crotch strap.
Non-serated keeper and D-ring on front of crotch strap.
One keeper on each side where belt passes through plate to become shoulder straps.

So I've used 5 D-rings and 7 keepers. I have 2 keepers left over. Can I assume the bungie is for holding down the clipped-off secondary light on the shoulder harness or was it included for another purpose? Thanks for the help!

-Ben

Bungie is probably intended to keep B/C inflator hose in place on the left shoulder strap.

The loop of bungee cord is for the left shoulder D-ring. Put the bungee in the keeper right above the D-ring, and pass your wing inflator hose through it when you rig up (the small hose from the regulator, not the corrugated hose that goes into the wing). The wing inflator hose should have some innertube like pieces of rubber to hold the corrugated hose to the inflator hose.

Thanks! Okay, it makes sense that the bungie is for the inflator hose. My wing isn't here yet, so I never thought of that - out of sight, out of mind.

Any idea what the extra 2 keepers are for?

No clue. Spares? ;)

Putting *only* the LP lose through the loop, but not the corrugated hose, works the best out of all the configurations I've tried.

Nope.

I'm with pants! (never thought I'd say that) ;)
