Seems like no one with enough power complained about the process.

I don't use so don't know the geometry of the place but If there's 4 ramps, they could stage the repairs, doing 2 at a time? Maybe they would have to fully close the place a couple of days or 3 for the transition, much better than 2 months.
 
The biggest problem is the people that start preparing when then are in position at the ramp.... boat should be loaded so launch, park your vehicle and go. If you are delayed then move the boat to the floating docks and get out of the way. When coming in pull your boat out then get out it out of the way. With the new parking fees, the city assign a Ranger to police things and keep it moving. Jet ski's and kayakers seem to be the worst.
