The hospital where I work told us that the vaccine will "most likely" be available by Christmas. I heard from an inside source that our local Phizer facility in St. Louis has the vaccines and administration kits ready. Waiting for the FDA to give the green light. My husband and I are looking into either Bonaire or Curacao in Feb. I am sure that I will receive the vaccine by then, not sure when my husband will be able to receive vaccine.

St. Louis had done a craptastic job in managing this virus. It is difficult imagining any country willing to accept visitors from my part of the country. I hope there will be big changes between now and Christmas, but I don't want to get my hopes up on something that my get delayed.

Your region isn’t alone. Much of the US is doing a similarly craptastic job at getting past this. Embarrassingly selfish activity. I’m just hoping it doesn’t get much worse before it starts getting better.

Essential the same info now on The Bonaire Insider.

No flights from the US until at least Dec 16.

It is very difficult to be optimistic for a Dec 16 opening. Things are going to continue to deteriorate in the US until at least sometime next year. Perhaps a very strict testing protocol will allow for some opening in the relatively near future.

My wife and I are in vaccination group 1B, I'm trying to be patient. Worst diving year for me in the last decade, including at least 2 weeks scheduled for Bonaire, last April we lost :(

Same here, had an amazing trip planned for this past October that clearly didn’t happen. Were booking another trip now for February 2021 and not even considering Bonaire for these same reasons.

Ultimate Dive Truck folks were amazing to work with and gave us a full refund, same with Dive Friends. Don Leman would not give us a refund and instead is holding our $ as future credit - here’s hoping the same mgmt staff/everything is still in place then/whenever the island does reopen as normal. Now hoping for possibly Oct-Dec 2021; we’ll see how things look around June-July though before even considering booking anything Bonaire.

Each state then has it’s own plan for distribution but I think most mirror the CDC recommendations. Here is the draft for NC.
