I was planning another trip to Bonaire this year with my wife and wanted to invite my cousin and his wife to come with us. They are relatively new divers and we havent seen them in a while as they live up north. He said that they would like to go and would like to bring their kids, a boy and a girl, who are 6 year old twins (Oh Boy). He said that most hotels have babysitting service and all would be fine (Oh Boy). We usually go to Buddy Dive and I checked and yes they have a babysitting service (Oh Darn). Before I go on they do have family to watch their kids if they travel and have done so many times, so that is not an issue.
I admit I cant say Im being objective here, but I personally don't think Bonaire is really that great for young kids, especially in that age group. Being stuck with a baby sitter is not IMHO fair to the kids nor that much fun. Although, I suppose the Donkey sanctuary would be interesting for them. To be honest I would rather not have them along for a number of reasons, but mainly I truly believe that Bonaire is not place for young children.
So my question is are my concerns about Bonaire not being conducive to young children unfounded?
Thanks
Doug
