Nope, in my backyard deck... and I was hoping to log those dives.

I still have no confirmation on the trip yet. As I stated it will be part of my DM to help out so I'm really hoping to get down there. It will be way cool to actually meet people I'm typing at <grin>...

Only if your hot tub is the Homestead Crater!

Have you dove there? I've always thought that would be an interesting dive, but not for the price they are asking! $22 for a 35min dive........ :lotsalove: :no

Its where I did my check out dives when I became certified. And there is nothing really to see other than a sunk wagon wheel. But the water is really warm and makes for a fun dive in the winter after skiing at Park City.

I think that the Crater is more expensive than $22 for 35! When we teach classes there, we get a two hour window, so the fee per student is different than the fee for a certified diver who walks up to the desk and pays for a single dive. I think that its more like $29 for 30 minutes.

It gets a bit more interesting as you get deeper. The wagon wheel is at 40 feet. The bottom is at 65 feet.

I could go back and count the dives that I have there. Probably around 100. Luckily, I have only paid for one dive. But, its worth doing once!

I dove over 100 dives before diving in warm water. By warm water I mean warm ocean water. I did my AOW at Crater Lake. Strange experience; it was snowing outside the dome and ~90 in the water. A year ago I thought about going there just to dive. Then they wanted $25 for a 30 min. dive. I told them they were crazy. I would pay that for a weekend of diving but not for just a single dive. Looks like they didn't care what I thought if they raised it to $29. :no

I have done many dives at Blue Hole in the winter in a 7/5 wet suit. When there is no sun or the wind is up, I would get in the water just to stay warm. :coffee: If the sun is out and there is no wind, then the surface intervals are fine and the water is warm enough for me in a 7/5. But that varies with the individual. I carry a lot of my own insulation. ;)

I am glad the night dive thing seems to be resolved. I am looking forward to our December dive.

I go over for 2 DM tests tonight, will discuss our BH trip - hopefully finalize whether we are going or not. I had to look back thru a few pages to see where the night dive thing was resolved. What was the real issue with the sign indicating you could not?

The weather is looking... BAD!

No reason to make a decision for us Denverites yet, but the current weather prediction is looking none to good.

There is suppose to be a big storm moving in Next Thursday. Granted, the weather here is difficult to predict, and things could speed up, slow down, or disappear.

I have no issue driving in snow, however it's a long trip down, ant that's at 75~80mph. Snowpacked roads, or worst a Raton pass closer can turn an already long 6 hour drive into a nightmare.

I'm keeping an eye on this, and maybe with luck this storm will be light, or miss us.

Definitely keep us posted. There's no need to make an already long trip if the driving is going to be miserably slow or impossible. :)
