Well, I'm not sure all went exactly as planned, but Kent (DiveDoggie) and myself had a great time!!
Kevin (ABQDiver), it's a shame that we were not able to do a dive together, or hang out and talk more. Next time we will work it out better! At least we got to stare at you (and wonder what the ELL was up) while you were playing lost victim. I have to say, you played a very convincing role as both of us made sure we saw bubbles when we passed by both times. The *STARFISH* pose was quite dramatic
Don, unfortunately my Drysuit became a wet suit as after my second dive, I had a cup or so of water in both feet!! Fortunatley it turned out to be a neck seal issue (operator error) and not a problem with the suit. I needed to go back to the hotel and dry the thing out, and check the seals and seams for leaks before I could dive again. By the time we got back I guess you had decided to leave which was too bad because we had a very nice dusk dive with Hillary, and another very enjoyable dive in the morning.
Joe, it's unfortunate that you had ear issues. Maybe work on clearing more often, but unfortuately ear problems are all to easy to run into even if you think everything is fine. I wish we would have known you were waiting at Josephs? We were there at 7:00pm as our last dive ended just after 6:00pm. Had we known you were wating, we would have got their sooner as Kent and I layed about the hotel for 30 minutes or so before getting the call from Hillary that she was on her way.
Hillary, it was excellent to meet you, dive with you, and hang out with your family at dinner. Our scheduled dinner party for 14 turned into an enjoyable dinner for six. It was nice meeting your husband and kids, and we will definately try and let you know when we head back down. Dispite the fact the hole is not the dives any of us dream of, my Drysuit skills improved 100%, and it was VERY fun just to get out and get wet (or Dry).
I hope your daughter is feeling better, and it's too bad you missed the Sunday dive. Maybe we can do Channel Island together! I'll have to look into airfare, but I've allways wanted to dive there, and you seem like you'd be a good guide!
Next time we should DEFINATELY do the picnic thing if the weather forecast is at all promising, as I regretted not doing it this time around. We should also plan on staging together, as having people spread out all over the parking lot resulted in our schedules getting off. While I'm not into *group* buddies, it certainly would have been fun to all be in the water at once. And as far as that goes, the threesome buddy system worked very well for myself, DiveDoggy, and Hillary!! We had a VERY nice twilight dive.
Nice to meet everyone, and we will definately plan on hooking up again! :05:
