Since I originally posted this in the wrong thread....

My brother and I will be in the area May3-5 and I was hoping to do an afternoon dive Thursday the 3rd. Looks like high tide will be about 7 pm with sunset about 7:45 or so, which provides a reasonable dive frame for us (most likely only about an hour and a half for us as newbs) with a little wiggle room to get out of the park. Any of the trolls care to show us some of the better sights? I've dove the bridge once before and absolutely loved it. Diving Friday or Saturday morning would be good too.

I can't commit this far out, but if you let me know the day before, there is a good chance that either Sandra and I or both of us could be there, and if so, we 'd be happu to have you dive with us.

Just take into account May 13th is Mother's day, and it will probably be particularly busy, if you plan on diving that day, plan on getting there even earlier to secure a parking spot.
And let me tell you there will be a lot of "mothers" at the bridge.

Got some interesting photos today of some pretty cool critters. This video I shot only because I see these humps so often, but wonder what makes them. Any ideas? If we were closer to to central Florida, I would guess it's the springs...

Temps were actually down a bit today. I showed in the 73-74F range which is considerably colder then it has been.
Having an open schedule for the day I headed down to lauderdale and did a shore dive from vista park just south
of LBTS. Very flat seas and viz at an easy 35-40 ft. Very light current running to the north but barely noticeable.
The reef down there still looking fairly healthy. Saw two turtles one right after another and numerous puffers and also
had a very large stingray decide to drop to the sand and feed on something that must have been just to my right.
A very nice two dive day. dive, dive, dive....

Has anyone seen those tarps that are draped over a couple of the old cut off bridge pilings ? Would removing these
possibly bunched up and then with a lift bag as to not drag across the bottm be worth the while ? It is maybe the second
to the last set of pilings going west to east under the small bridge. I could come up with a plan if this is something that
makes sense, otherwise I can just leave it be.

Jenny-
Great shots!
The flounder is something like a serrated flounder????
I don't see him in the books but I recognize the fish having seen another picture of one taken at the bridge and thinking "wow, got to keep an eye out for that critter..." may have the name wrong though.
Love the pictures though not the best angle on Jim "good form" or no :D

Lions and Tigers and bore (holes) oh my!

Lions and Tigers and bore (holes) oh my.
Dove with Buoyancy Babe Jenn today for 2 hours and 10 minutes. Temps are holding at 75.6 and there was nice viz through out the dive.
We saw lionfish, tiger goby, and a mantis shrimp with a lovely borehole.
The tiger couldn't have been 1/4 inch and I never saw it until I looked at my images. Today was a great dive and there weren't too many divers....if someone lost a snorkle (and can describe it lol) contact me. Can't wait for Monday!

As to the afore mentioned image of me at least she got my best side....:chuckle:

LOL. I did the best I could with the material presented! :rofl3:

bimini.. which flounder are you referring to? the black one or the green lines?

So me and a couple of people might try to dive bob on the 28th. I have never dove it before and was wondering what the best time would be to dive it. Also if anyone is interested in joining us.

Jenny-
Sorry, my bad: the "black" flounder with the jagged edges, though the neon coloration on the other was very cool.
I did eventually dredge up the photog's name though, it was Sandra Edwards, may-haps Dan V or Sandra could repost the pic and proper name.
If it was indeed the same fish, yours appears a juvenile, her picture had lighter coloration but the similar crazy edging.
and now I can't help think about the last one as Jim's bore hole picture...... :rofl3:
