There are dives and then there are dives! Today Jet and I had one of the dives! The viz was back (at 40+) and we had 103 minutes of bliss....I must have lost 500psi laughing as jet followed that eagle ray trying to get a picture, the ray knew exactly where jet was and kept circling her staying just at the edge of viz.
And today was a first, we didn't see any creatures "not fighting". We did see some cuddling, but no "not fighting".

Thanks jet......

Thank YOU! There is still magic at the bridge. And today we were blessed to see it.

Dumpster Diver may be looking for a rise but I would hope he was just being an ass.

John

No more than normal?

It's really sad to hear about the taking of anything from this dive site. As I stated earlier this week, last Saturday was my first dive at this locale. I know that I for one, would be having words with anyone that seems to be participating in this activity. As for pics and locations here, Im good wth finding sealife on my own, as are many. Its part of the adventure to keep looking. Besides three can keep a secret only if two are dead. Again thamks to the trolls here who led to to my interest and eventually diving BHB.

Well I'm gonna post my pictures and if collectors want to guess where my sightings are and hunt for my finds at BHB, then they're welcome to try.

For any collectors reading this, here are my most recent BHB pics:

Found this article from November but still an interesting read. Seahorses may be heading toward decline in Florida

The most disturbing part of this article was the comment made by a guy in the Keys:

"The dwarf seahorse is not endangered," said Ken Kull, a Big Pine Key commercial fisherman who calls himself the "Seahorse King" of the Keys and sells them for $2.50 or so to aquarium fish wholesalers. "One day I'll get 50, another day 250. If you need 100 dwarf seahorses, give me a week and I'll go and get them."

I was blessed to be given a tour my third time at the bridge and felt privileged and over joyed to finally see creatures I'd missed previously. It is just so infuriating to know there are people out there that take for their own benefit things that bring others such joy. It is the reality of our world that it contains so much wonder and yet so much evil. In my opinion if you discover something wondrous, protect it at all cost!

What is also really sad is that the chances of the sea horses dying in a tank by starving to death are really high...if they even make it to the tank alive. Type in Google "my sea horse died" and see tons of results....

Some see life forms with homes, even families and partners; sadly others see commodities. This will never change. It makes me sick as I empathize with the former. The sad news of what is going on in our oceans seems to out weigh the positive so many days. All I can say is, fight for the marine reserves and make sure they are properly funded.
