That's really cool.. and I am totally clueless as to what it could be..
LOVE the tiger goby!

HOLEY MOLY!! *Please* let me dive with you guys!! Those pike blenny shots are un-freakin-believable!! That's an amazing number of unusual critters for one dive, too. Dang. . .

Kevin

Kelly and I hit the bridge again for a great 184 min dive (yes, we have big tanks)...
Short version; it was epic.
Saw multiple octos, one intent on fondling anything in reach, more pike blennies "not fighting", dragonettes, pipefish, super micro nudies, seahxxxxes and for our personal new BHB critter list: multiple leaping squat lobsters.
Included in this magic 3 hour tour was a side trip to the elusive sponge garden by myself, only to be cut short by Kelly summoning me back to her location for a new find, which was so much fun we never made it back there together.
That is only a part of what we saw. But need to keep it brief.
For any lowlifes planning on using this post for evil, all specimens described were on the south side of Peanut Island in the shipping lane.
John

Thanks Jenny. We found something that reliably has a pair on it but it is maddening to get both in frame.
Can't wait to go again.
Kevin- anytime, though in full disclosure only my spouse can spot the beyond tiny stuff.
She showed me a couple nudies that even with a +10 diopter were too small to be usable....
Missed my chance with a lobster shrimp that came out of it's hole 12 inches to take some algae from my wife's hand.
Great dive.

It ain't the tiny stuff. You guys are finding *tremendous* regular sized stuff! Nudi's are for younger eyes - and better lenses - than mine. . .

I may pester you guys to death next month. :D

I wonder what a baby sea rod looks like. . .

Kevin

Very hard to get a decent picture of this but was hoping someone could let us know what the heck it is.
It was surrounded by clear "tentacles" you can see in focus in the foreground.
At the time, I thought it might be a nudie but looking at it blown up I can't even guess...
Thanks
John

I will be in Florida on march 13 and 14. I plan on diving the bhb one day and doing a boat dive the other day. Can anyone tell me the high tides for those days. Also what will the water temp be and what can I expect as far as air temp? How has Viz been lately?

72-75 in water, 3-5mil is fine. ambient air 75-85 depending on weather....

bhb Blue Heron Bridge

i recommend scubatyme III for the boat dives ( in pompano - here are the sites they hit) .:: SCUBATYME ::.

surf report: Palm Beach, Florida Surf Forecast and Surf Report has approx high tide aswell.... you want your dive to last from an hr before to an hr after

viz was horrible last time i went ~10 feet, but have seen reports of 30+ since.... hit up "the shopping carts" for sure !!!

PM ME, and I'll try and meet you out there if no one else already is ( the people on this thread are very friendly AND active so I'm sure you will fond plenty of potential "buddies"...

weekends are tough to find parking there, but during the week you will feel like you own the place....

Good luck and have fun1 You will be glad you dove there !!!

PM me and I'll be more then happy to give you complete info
hi tide on the 13th is 1301 (1:01 pm) on 14th is 1401 (2:01 pm)....it is good to be in the water about an hour before slack hi tide. If you are unsure of your weight I'd say plan an extra 20 minutes to get it spot on. This is an extremely shallow dive and you'll enjoy it more if you aren't fiddling with your bouyancy the whole dive. last year on 3/09 min water temp was 72 and on 3/11 it was 74.3 year before on 3/16 it was 73
Thermal comfort will depend upon how you dive.
There are great boats right out of WPB within 10 minutes of the bridge. The reefs in WPM are lovely and you will get some great drift dives.
If I don't have classes I may be able to give you a tour of BHB but again feel free to PM me and I'll give you names of local boats.

Very Nice.
