Wait, I remember a couple, was that you guys?
There were several couples underwater, but maybe yes :) As for you, I immediately recognized the face from your user picture. Looks like our next BHB dives will happen no sooner than 2024, so maybe until then.

I only saw one couple near the boat channel at the end of the west bridge. The woman was taking pictures near the sand at the bottom of the pilar. I know there are holes that some cool fish can be found hiding in from time to time. I didn't have my camera with me on this day.

My wife does not take pictures, I do. But we were several meters apart so you could easily mistake us for two unrelated divers. There were also some other divers there, as I recall.

It always puzzles me, how restrictions of such kind always match economic interests of some service providers. For example, in Hawaii the park rangers now look for any excuse to block your access to Mauna Kea. You need a 4WD, and if you have a 4WD you need more than half tank of gas, and if you have both you can't take children under 12, and so on. But if you buy a tour ($280) somehow children under 12 do not matter, they'll take anyone. Same here. You can't go, but hire a guide and suddenly you can.

Luckily we have options and when I go into Force-E to sign in, their shop has several people at the register renting and buying gear.

I saw on the FB group that vis was less than 5 ft today.

The new night dive restrictions really put a dent in my birthday trip plans for next week. We booked an AirBNB with the intent of staying as close as possible to BHB, Pura Vida, and their boat slip at the marina, as we were planning on doing boat dives through them Wednesday - Saturday, and then diving the bridge in the evenings basically Wednesday - Saturday as well. Sunday morning we were going to hit the bridge one more time in the AM and then drive the three hours or so home.

Now it’s looking like Friday will be the only option for a night dive as Force-E has the pass that evening… bummer. Are there any other semi-close decent night dives you aren't forced to pay $100+ to have a "guide" for?

As I've said before on this topic, I use Pura Vida regularly and really enjoy working with them. However, this just feels over the top to me. IMO there are other ways to tackle this issue without going to this extreme. Force-E is taking that route and I hope their methods to solve the issue of losers not following the rules proves adequate. For me personally, I'm not into night diving as much as most. I've done my share of it including at BHB. It's OK but it's not my favorite type of diving. With that said, I really like having this as an option when it strikes my fancy. I'm rooting that Force-E is able to keep their process open as it is and that perhaps Pura Vida will eventually go back to that approach.
