So a while back (I think it was on the Jupiter Dive Thread) @Johnoly was talking about keeping a dive calendar for times of the year various species are known to show up in the vicinity. I believe that October was the month for Oceanic Manta Rays to show up. There had been a rumor of sightings at BHB, but I could not remember if it was Oct/2020 or Oct/2021, I knew it was more than a rumor because I had filmed it with a Go Pro knockoff and just had never bothered to get the video off the card. I finally got around to it yesterday, the time stamp on the video and photo is incorrect, the correct date is Oct 4, 2020 because I submitted a REEF survey of the sighting. I know it was my sighting because there were no other surveys reported for BHB that day, and my survey Form ID: 5172608 has Oceanic Manta Ray. It was on the east side north of the bridge with the tide starting to go back out. As some of you might have observed, often when the tide starts going back out there is a distinct halocline. The more brackish greenish water will be moving over the more bluish saltwater. I was down in the nice blue water but the Manta Ray was above me, in the greenish water. Also I was shooting straight into the sun. All this to say that, the photo captured from the video is not good quality nor is the video, nevertheless you can clearly make out the Manta Ray.
