I'm planning a dive at Blue Heron Bridge for this Saturday morning, but I'm not sure time we should plan on entering the water. I've heard conflicting info: some say at high tide & others say an hour before high tide. Which is correct?

Thanks for the help

I found this website particularly helpful.
Blue Heron Bridge

Yes, but please note that those tide tables are for 2008.

Use this link for 2009 tide tables.

And yes, you can enter the water one hour prior to high slack, and get up to 120 minutes of dive time.

I'm very glad you pointed that out as I was planning my BHB diving according to that website! Thanks!

Speaking of the bridge, if you start an hour before high tide, how long can you actually expect to spend in the water before the current starts to become unbearable?
We will only be able to dedicate on day to this site, so I want to be able to get as much time under as I can.
Any other advise would be welcomed as well.

And this is how a search is supposed to work.

I had a question.......how to plan for a BHB dive....I looked around and found my question answered.

The only bummer is I really wanted to start a thread......Damn.....

We will be diving BHB either Sat or Sun of next weekend if anyone else is planning on being there. I can't wait!!

Good chance I'll be there next weekend either sat or sun (first weekend in May)
