Ok, looking for some help/advice here.

It seems like every time I do a decent dive (> 100', > 60Min) my big toe on my right foot hurts for a day or so after the dive, nothing bad, just sore.

At first I thought it was just arthritis since it seemed to come and go and I have broken that toe a couple of times.
But last weekend after being out the water for a couple of weeks and toe feeling ok, I did a trimix dive. That evening my toe started hurting again and when I looked at it there was a bruise right over joint where the toe meets the foot.

I have no reason to believe I was bent. Schedule was conservative and followed and no indication of any DCS at all.
And never saw this on previous dives, but I don't do trimix very often.

I'm about a week out and the pain is rather mild anymore.
Just wondering if anybody knows if you can have localized "bending" due to previous injury or if I need to new fins :)

I used to have something very similar to that, I changed the type of socks I was wearing under my drysuit, and didnt lace the boots as tight, no more bruising no more pain.

I would check that type of stuff first

I have to agree with comments above, sounds like a boot/socks/fin mis-fit issue. One or the other is too tight and rubbing on your right toe as you fin kick and it only becomes intolerably noticeable on long dives.

Thanks all,
I've got a dry suit with integrated boots, wear wool socks and use XXL Hollis Fins.
Think you are all correct, probably have arthritis with lack of flexibility in that toe from all the breaks and sprains and the long dives with frog kicks just exacerbate it.
