Maybe we'll get a good longshore current and wash the Red Tide out of town.

Hi Tom,

Use your influence over the sea to make it happen. I thought you had a special phone to do that. ;)

Was just out to Catalina's west end on Scuba Luv's King Neptune. Between the swell wrapping around the west end and a current, the boat was not able to safely maintain position for diving. We ended up 2-3 miles away from the West End at Black's Rock (or Black's Point) where the swell had dirtied up the water pretty badly.

Our first dive at Ship Rock this AM was beautiful, but our third at Little Gibraltar (Bill Krohl's High Point) was not great in terms of vis (plenty to see though).

I'm wondering what the dive park will look like if this is a SW swell???

I can't remember where I found this picture, but it was a Wrinkles dive I believe. There may actually be some people diving this weekend! :D

I'm second from the right........haha, we don't care about the swell model.

Another chance for a Kodak moment eh Shaka?

We had no choice, it was the Wrinkles dive and we had to show the LA dewds its completely save to dive.........lost my fins on the exit, wave broke on me and ripped them off.

Like in the movie Top Gun, "Gutziest move I ever did see."
I prefer the ankle slappers myself, still working on that "part the red sea" bit tho. :D

That was a fun day! It was a lot easier than it looks. The vis was quite poor :)
If you guys drove down from LA to dive I'd do it again! I'm the one with the siver and black fins... No plans for diving this weekend!

Ripped "them" off? Them? as in "both"?
I remember that your crowd of adoring fans groaned as one when we saw you hammered by that big wave.

Then we gasped as we saw you lift up one fin in your hand, shake your brave head and fling the fin away with great emotion, as if to appease the angry sea gods.

Finally, we all "Oooooo'd" in sympathy as we felt your disgust at losing one fin and knowing how useless the sadly widowed fin had become.

Quite the memorable day... wouldn't have been so without the amazing Tsunami Divers and their attentive photographers and videographers!

Shaka and Sean,

There was a video too - I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Can't remember where I found that sucker... I'll look for it.
