Don't know how it was on Sat, but it was pretty good (better than average) on Sunday.

Not bad at all as Jason said!! Really enjoyed our dives on Sunday.

Stella's Sugar Shack is set on blocks up towards the restrooms, but she has no idea when they (the city) will change the compressor over. They still need to insulated the SS and get power over to it first. She assumed it will be a couple of weeks, at least and should happen during the week to minimize the impact no air fills would have during the prime weekend time frame.

Interesting, she told me she thought she would be in there by April, but said there was no firm date yet.

I did not specifically ask if she was going to be around next weekend, but I would say yes because she needs the $$$, and she enjoys us strange Dive Folk! :blinking:

I really hope they keep her involved, and make it worth her time once the dust settles.

You can read a bit more about our trip at the bottom of the BH thread dated the 16~17th if you like.

I neglected to to mention the "eye roll" she gave me when she said that.........

We got there Friday evening, and it was very clear. The vis for the night dive was great.

Saturday it was also excellent. We were the first one there, but it was snowing so it was kinda dark as it was gloomy out. Vis was nice, but not top to bottom nice.

Sunday we had much better weather, but there were a lot more divers in the water. As Kevin and Jason said, vis was good. I could see about half way across the bottom, so I judge about 60 feet, but varied as one went up the water column.

thanks!:D We will be over with only a couple of students, and I am trying out my "new" drysuit. I'll try to get some underwater photos and videos too if the suit works out well. I haven't been in a drysuit in 3 years so I may need a few dives to get used to it again.

I don't know that I like "Stella's Sugar Shack", it sounds like a brothel. :eyebrow: I think she deserves a little bit better than that!

Good luck with the "re-learning" curve!

We joke with Stella a lot! She always says: "You guuuuys, stop iiitt!" Cracks me up.

Back from our weekend excursion.......:D

The good news is that it wasn't too crowded and the sun was out.

The bad news is that the weather sucked Saturday - windy windy WINDY!! With temps in the 40s it made it feel like -20 to me.

More bad news, didn't get to do much with the drysuit. With the bad weather my hubby and I felt it was better to just get the students in and out of water ASAP. I guess I will go back over in a few weeks and try again.

I did get in one dive Sunday am in my wetsuit. It was a nice long 50 minute dive, never got cold and I would have stayed longer but no one else was in the hole.

Vis sucked royally due to some idiots crawling and walking on the bottom. I went over to tell them to "get the heck of the bottom" and then I noticed they had an instructor with them. Holy cow. These two "divers" were doing their AOW. I have seen OW students who were better divers than them. The girl was doing the dog paddle across the bottom, bicycling like crazy and creating a tornado of silt. Her buddy, an older guy, was completely upright and standing or walking on bottom. I thought it was odd to begin with but when they started going up, both divers continued in that same body position all the way to safety stop. Him completely vertical and kicking up and down and her horizontal doing the dog paddle, arms and legs flinging madly. I really hope their instructor didn't give them the cert. I don't want to see the destruction of a coral reef after those two do a dive!!!!!! It really made me sick. :shakehead: Their instructor did nothing in the water to correct them which really mades me angry.

Weather on Sunday was still a little windy but nothing like Sat. The sun was out too which helped. I took some pics of Stella's shack. I'll try to post them later.
