i say not to factor in future ccr/sccr diving unless that's in your plan for the next year. buy a computer one or two steps ahead of where you are, not five steps ahead.

yes, jax, they're all reasonably equivalent. start trolling for a used one & you can score for less than $1k. whatever comes up that you can get is fine.

Not sure I agree that CCR is five steps ahead of OC trimix... imo it's sort of the next logical step (especially after you get your first big gas bill on a trip).

if she's not heading that way now, sure that she plans on a breather, there's no need to buy based on 'just in case'. even if it's logical doesn't mean it's necessary if she's not planning on it.

then again, my predator came with a fischer connector & i sure as hell don't plan to use it.

You and I may be trading predators very soon.....

A predator without the Fischer connector would make an excellent backup to a hardwired computer. Have the hardwired computer monitoring the O2 cells, have the other set to constant pO2. Worst case of a complete rebreather failure you still have deco info from a computer.

It does give you a higher resale value with the Fisher connector....like 3-400 USD more.
