Make the investment in a drysuit and you won't care what temperature the water is. I dive a Mobby's drysuit in San Diego all year long from depths of 50-300 FSW. There are always deals to be found out there, you don't have to get a new one. Some dive shops even have loaner DUI drysuits so you can test them out for FREE.

7 mil is pretty much the standard thickness in So Cal. Xcel, Pinnacle, Body Glove and Henderson are all popular suits. I use an Xcel and have been fine in 50-52 degree water. Some people complain that Henderson's do not hold up as well as other suits, but these are probably the people that step all over their suits trying to get out of them. I suspect that a more flexible suit like the Henderson could get overstretched in that situation.

OK scjoe how do you get out of your wetsuit?
