Thanks for your feedback. Seems like a lot of you are using double hose! They are really cool looking but I'm pretty new to scuba and want to get a standard regulator that does a good job of diverting bubbles.

I wonder if anybody can tell me this: The concern with the Kronos is that if you tilt your right ear down, the bubbles would just stream over your face. Can this be avoided with the XTX50? In other words, with the XTX50, if you tilt your head to one side, does the air come out of only one tee that's positioned higher or do the bubbles come out of both?

I'm new to ScubaBoard but and I am just starting to post so be patient with me. I own a modern mistral and I love it. It will take some getting used to versus a single hose and you will have some free flow issues on the surface but they are easy to overcome. I do quite a lot of underwater photography and I wouldn't trade it for any reason for that reason alone. I don't have any issues with the way it breathes at all. I was told it was an air hog but I don't see any difference with my single hose regs. I have been to 100 plus with it and it feels great at any depth. I would recommend it for photography simply because of the bubbles behind the head but I also really enjoy diving with it. Besides you always have people coming up and asking about it. It is a good ice breaker when people come up and ask what I'm diving with.

If you ever get to dive a Phoenix Royal Aquamaster (mine is a modified 1958 DA Aquamaster) you will be stunned by the difference in breathing. It is the difference between sucking on a badly tuned octo and breathing off a well tuned primary - only the PRAM breathes easier than any single hose regulator. And it is not just perception - the physics tells the story.

I love my Kronos... Here I am vertical on the bottom...
