If you both go to the same dive site, you by foot, pack mule and weed clearing, he by boat, sunnying and relaxing, why would the boat diver have a long deco obligation and you would not? This is a trick questin, huh :eyebrow:
Yeh different dive sites by quite a few miles (over land or sea).

Can we go ahead and get back on topic instead of this thorough hijack/rape of topic?

Look on your local websites or the deco stop of cave diver forum, they all have good used sections. Sorry about the hijack, but you have been around here long enough to know that other questions get tacked on to the original as its being talked over.

I think you have had plenty of answers regarding the where, the questions that are left are the why questions. Why do you want doubles, what are you going to use them for? What size you need and how they fit your trim are things to consider rather than just buying any old set of doubles out there just because they are on sale or secondhand. I bought mine after trying essentially the same set on a few dives that a friend had hanging around, so i knew they were ok for me, 240cuft of gas is more than enough for me to do the kind of diving i want and due to my body size/shape they trim out quite well for me as well

Cool, thanks Sim. No its no big deal, I know it happens, which is why I steered it back. Otherwise, new users would never learn the "board etiquette". Thanks for your post.

Sorry for the hijack. Thought the original q was a'd. Try Leisure Pro for decent tank, bands, and valve prices. Buy your extra reg through the LDS for the warrenty.

Try doubling up your AL80 first to get a feel for doubles. It will be cheaper than buying 2 more tanks. However, steels have better fill pressures, last longer and have better bouyancy properties, but are more expensive.

As you go deeper, you can then look at bigger doubles and split the 80's back up again.

I'd go used on any tank that is rated to 3000 or better. I'd buy new on LP steels that are rated to 2640. The hydro vs fill pressure thing I talked about earlier.

We have an etiquette on this board? :06: How do you use it, and where is the best place to buy one? :D

Ah, you just gotta beat us over the head with a hp hose every once in a while. There's no diving down here today, so I tend to hijack threads instead. :)
