The problem with hyperstretch is that it is not as warm as gn-231, and it will not last as long. The problem with gn-231 is that it is not as stretchy, so it requires a better custom fit. What are you temperature needs?

I plan to dive in SE Asia...i guess shld be warm water. Warmth probably won't be my main concern.
May I know what is gn-231 ?

I think that Hyperstretch will do you fine then. GN-231 is a particular Rubatex neoprene that makes the best wetsuits when used with appropriate skill.

weiyee.. I am about your size. I have had good luck with Oceanic 3/2, but on a multi-dive trip I get cold after a few days. I now have a 3mm body glove zippered vest as an added layer when needed.

The Hyperstretch will probably work similar to the Oceanic.

My Aqualung Aquaflex is fantastic and boob no prob!

Just wanted to let new readers know that Terrapin Wetsuits offers two options to achieve a perfect fit over the bustline (and everywhere else as well). We can tailor an off-the-rack suit to conform with your proportions and/or can build a fully custom suit from scratch. If you're buying an off-the-rack suit, my advice is to select one with the best match to your torso length (neck to crotch). Then if it needs to be made wider or narrower, we can go either way. If you have multiple choices of suits that fit your torso length and you're between sizes, select the larger size; it is less expensive to remove material than to add it to the suit. So for example if you find you need a size 12 at the bustline, but only a size 10 at the hips, let Terrapin take out the excess.

Thanx for keeping this post alive, and feel free to see our website at Welcome to Terrapin Wet Suits

To SB Readers,

Wetwear does make ladies suits with an actual bust panel built into the suit. It is not a dart, it is a panel that forms an actual cup and allows the breast room and not to be squished.

All of our suits are made custom sized and our prices are very reasonable. We offer both the Rubatex neoprene and a soft stretch neoprene for a little less money.

We encourage anyone who is interested in having a custom suit made, to call and speak to one of our wetsuit specialists. There are so many details about buying a wetsuit that most people don't think of. Even if you don't buy a suit from us, you will learn a lot and be able pick the best suit for your needs.

I am so happy to c this thread
I am wondering what wetsuit to get, I am 5'6 and 36DD, arnd 140lb. I just got certified two weeks ago and I hated the fit of the rented wetsuit.

Since the last post was quite some time ago, just wondering...is the hyperstretch still my best bet for a good fit?

My girlfriend has your measurements, she loves her Waterproof Capri 3mm wetsuit.

Of course Terrapin Wetsuits would love to make you a custom suit, but, there is a very viable option to custom tailor an off-the-rack suit, too. Other "custom" manufacturers won't do that for you.

Here's my collection of information from altering many different brands for folks around the country. While Hyperstretch, Aquaflex, and other copyrighted names for super-stretchy wetsuit material do allow the material to stretch around the larger areas of the body, you need to remember the downsides to this material:
1) In order to stretch more in either length or width, the neoprene gives up thickness. Most of the ladies I speak with say they get the coldest in their upper torso, so thinner neoprene around the chest and upper back is a poor solution.
2) Very soft neoprene will compress more at depth, so a very strechy, soft suit that's 3 mm on the surface may be as thin as 1 mm at 90 ft.
3) Repeatedly over-stretching will cause the material to break down faster, and stay compressed. Without intact "closed cell" air bubbles in the neoprene, it radiates your body heat more quickly, and you're no longer insulated.
4) A suit that start out at 1 mm is very stretchy, but the thinner the neoprene, the more of the "closed cells" are cut when the neoprene is sliced, so the more permiable the layer, and less effective its insulation ability.

In short, it's better to get the right thickness for your insulating needs AND a suit to fit you correctly without over-stretching.

One last thing about the list above, it's Terrapin Wetsuits, not Otter, that make the cool minihoods with ears, horns, fins, etc...

I'm now diving in a 5mm Pinnacle cruiser (c-cups up top) and I've found it to be a pretty good fit, if a little large around the waist. Much better than my old Scubapro 5mm Profile Steamer which was really restrictive in the chest/shoulter area (would have been worse if the cup size was bigger). Many women I know have been happy with the fit of most Bare wetsuits, and Waterproof seems to have worked really well with bigger chests...Hope it helps
