I had a very painfull experience the first dive, trimming is not an option, its a requirement! Unless your a sadist.

I am thinking about a Bikini wax before I use them again.

I know folks were expecting a smilie next to that line but I am serious.

You must like the pain!!!!!!!!!!!

You can either go and get it an be ready for it or the Cath will do it anyway. It is just like a bandaid.....better to pull quick and get it over with. That isn't an option with the cath. :)

Do some trimming, that is all thats really needed. Or, and this works, but is more of a hassle.
Take a ziplock sandwich bag and cutoff the "ziplock" part. Cut one closed corner at a 45 degree angle, size appropriate to you. Place bag over you. The bag will keep the hair on the inside once your penis is through the cutout. Trimming is lots easier.

Also, using the 2-piece hose and barbed connector that I wrote about allows you to do this in private and makes everything much easier.

Of course, on a crowded boat, it can also be a great "conversation starter".

Rochester Medical Wide Bands rule. These suckers are like a...well they don't come off until you want them to. They're easy to put on and easy to take off unless...as with any catheter, if you don't trim before you put one of these on, you're going to be waxing when you take it off.

About $1.50 at my local medical supply company.

the ladies aren't the only ones with sensitive issues to discuss.

And we have managed to do it without getting tasteless. :)

$2 each. I am not sure how many are left. We had a run on them recently. My guess is 1/2 to 2/3 of the 80 we ordered are gone.

You will have to wait for Jay to get back next week. They are locked in his office and his is doing some GUE interning in Atlanta next weekend. Right now he is in High Springs.

Do you know what the price is for the caths??

I just bought a p-valve for my drysuit and I'm still getting up the guts to poke the hole in my CF200.

Rather than learn the hard way, are there any tricks to removing the catheter from the tubing after the dive? or more specifically, does all of the fluid drain from the plumbing during the dive or should I be expecting it to be filled?

What kind of post dive maintenance are you guys doing? Do you flush the system? If so, how?

And finally and most importantly, does the trim job have to be as smooth as a babies bottom or are we talking about the stubble look?

Thanks for the advice. I'm sure it will be helpful!

One really good trick would be to get someone else to do it for you, although I have a hard time getting my buddy that drunk. Short of that, gently rolling both ends off has always worked for me.

Your worst fears are about to be realized. You will get used to it. You don't have kids, do you?

You mean other than washing my hands? Flush the plumbing (water & vinegar) and forget about it. Chances are good that your sweetie has a little kit under her sink that was designed for preparing and delivering a sanitizing solution - or get creative.

Ask your sweetie to help out with this part of the project, too, and let her decide how short! Either length is acceptable and you might find you looking forward to the occasional trim session.

p.s. You knew it couldn't last, didn't you Chad?:)
