Sounds like a good concept and I understand the theory - just does not work for me - believe me I have tried pretty much everything. But then I prefer no water at all v. a trickle which is what happens any other way.

Also I spend pretty much all of the dive looking down so the bottom of the mask is the glass - so if it fills to the weakest part of the seal that would be a full mask.
 
Find a mask that works with it.

I have a stache and beard...
Mask seal didn't work...
Trimming the stache 1/4" didn't work...

I went through a slew of different masks, 'til I found the SeaVision Ultra. No more leaks.

Must be the fit... Can't think of anything else. Fit is the ticket...
