I made it by last night untill 9:00pm. Not as many folks as last time, mostly Royal Scuba. Not sure if more made it by after I left. The pool was empty and had been getting a good scrubbing. It looks sooooooo much deeper empty!

Glenn is doing a nice job setting up some of those antique dive rigs. It was neat reading about some of those deep caves in Mexico and Russia. Hope more divers can make it next month!

Tell us some more about the deep caves in Mexico. I know a couple, but I'm I'm always looking for more. PM's work too. Thanks! Sorry I missed the shindig this time. Without a reminder I just spaced it out.

Hey guys,

I wanted to go to the February Friday meeting but was out of town (diving in Florida).

Never saw anything posted about March meeting so I didn't drive by the shop.

What happened?

Will there be a April meeting?

Been in Austin less than a year, trying to align with a dive shop, anythoughts about Austin Aqua Sports Club or good shops in Austin, please advise me.

Much Thanks,
BigBull

OK, someone sent me a private message and said that it is Austin Aqua Club (no Sport in the name), apparently that was someone else who gave the industry a black eye. I'm new to Austin, so I'm sorry if I got the Aqua Club name wrong.

Shownuff!, how many people make these friday functions and are you planning on going back on April4th?

Is it strictly divers, or can I bring my girlfriend if she's not certified?

What are the dues/rules? Most scuba clubs in Florida will typically charge you a yearly fee and give you a certain amount of free fills per year and ask that you be involved in one function per year.

Austin Aqua Club is the Phoenix trying to rise from the fires of Austin Aqua Sports. The Friday functions are open to all. Glen is still trying to figure out the whole dues thing and what will be included.

I don't know if it is fair to say Mike gave the industry a black eye, he closed up shop and left one day, stopped returning phone calls and e-mails. I haven't heard he owes anyone money, equipment, or anything else. He and Glen may be in a pissing contest, but there are two sides to that story, and I've only heard Mike's. He may have left a few folks with a bad taste in their mouth, but that's different than a black eye. A black eye might be Deep Blue Scuba. All the best to Glen, and it appears that Oak Hill has stepped in to fill a lot of the void that AAS's abrupt closing left behind.

I've not had the chance to hear Mike's side of the story, so I stay neutral. What ever happened between Mike & Glenn is exactly that, between them.

Thanks for the kuddo Frank.

Well if that’s the case, I guess my computer just vanished into thin air. No wait it didn’t vanish it was packed up into a storage building somewhere, after being in the shop since November, and after I had been told that it had been sent off to Scubapro, which as one might guess never actually happened. Never been a big fan of getting the run around, talked to him a few times, and he was always been evasive. So computer is still in limbo (storage building) and after a few talks with Scubapro, they are working on getting me a new computer. So I’ve been without a computer since November and now I have to fork up some cash to get some new one. So who has a black eye??
