It is just a social event. I don't think there is any other motive. It is just a get together and something he has done in the past and wants to do again so don't read too much into it.

I've had a hard time hitting social events on the weekends (SSASS), something always comes up, but the night before, right after work is perfect. Seems like a great way to start the weekend.

Trip Report: First Friday BBQ at the new Austin Aqua Club...

A bunch of retelling of stories from the "good ol' days."

Plenty of beer and BBQ!

Too much bashing the former co-owner of the shop for my taste. I didn't like that, especially since it came from folks who only know one side of the story.

The place looks the same as it did last time I peeked in the window a month ago, but there was talk about working on it and plenty of power tools around. Someone just needs to pick them up and start using them.

Plenty of big ideas floating around too. If someone will take on the 99% perspiration part of the equation something could come of it.

Some cool people were there, but there were a lot of strange people too. I'm talking weird even for Austin. :14: For example, the old, toothless bum that used to cut the lawn was hanging out...probably five fingering the food and beer other people brought. I think he brought a half dozen or so of his buddies.

Zinc and Mack were there...I'm not counting them among the "odd group." It was nice talking to them and tlessard, who was also in attendance.

Notably missing: LVX and jac. What happened to ya'll? I really wanted to show you two my brochure for the Starnes Island Commune!!!
