Ive been diving nitrox for a few years and dont care for the bumper stickers as well?
Bruce at Aquarius did my last vis and suggested it..but I said no thanks? He and BR on Lighthouse have never seem to have cared? To each his own I suppose..sometimes for shoredives I wont dive the N02,so a sticker doesn't always make sense.

AH-I'm curious, I have never been asked for a card for fills at any shop..either nitrox or cert card? Since getting steel tanks (and the closure of DT in Pittsburgh) my local shops dont do N02 and cant fill HP tanks? Capt Aquas used to be an option but now only Hayward?

I was tired last trip down and didnt get fills on my way out..:shakehead:I'll be at Aquarius when Bruce opens up at 7:00.

I have a buddy who would like to join if there are any cancelations?

Drew

I look at the stickers like this... they are hard to miss... so if someone else dives my tanks they have been warned that they may or may not contain nitrox. Be them certified or not thats their call but in the end its their responsibility to know what gas they are diving. Ive done my part to alert them that these tanks potentially have nitrox.

I have not dove off this boat before, people with past experiences when do they usually return to the dock? As of now I have a hard 1pm cutoff on with the in-laws watching my daughter. Which means id need to be in Marina by 1. If this isnt a very possible situation with how tight of a schedule the boat is usually on ill have to either find other child care or sell my spot unfortunately :/.

I'll be asking them to go out of the bay but the final destination is up to the captain. The Monterey Express has another chartered scheduled for 1:30pm and there is at least 4 spots sold. So assuming they do that charter I expect we'll be back by 12:30pm at the latest.

I remember getting back to the dock by around 12:30 on the several trip-s I've done on ME. But it usually takes around 15 minutes to lug your stuff back up to the parking lot, especially if you're lugging tanks. So, could be close.

Jim told me a few minutes ago he may have damaged his rotator cuff. He will see his Dr. on Thursday but from what he tells me I doubt he will be diving on Saturday. That being said he asked me to put the word out that his spot may be available. If your interested in this spot let Mike M. know.

Ron - I'm headed over to Dolphin to pick up my tanks (without wraps) - Meet me there and I'll buy you a beer and we can discuss the finer points of Nitrox stickers, PADI, GUE, etc. :D

I called Dolphin Scuba ahead of time and asked if they would fill my tanks explaining that they were not O2 cleaned and that I did not have nitrox stickers on them.

Rick, from Dolphin Scuba would not fill all my tanks with Nitrox. Blah blah blah PADI Five Star shop, someone could die, blah blah. Of course the stage bottle marked 100' he said was OK and he was willing to fill the double set since few would be able use them. But the remaining HP100's and HP120's he said no way. Another shop gladly took the $100+ for the fills though. It was not the first time Rick rubbed me wrong. Previously telling me my tech gear was ridiculous for recreational diving, and a long hose was unnecessary. I guess he didn't foresee the scooter in my cabinet. Glad I didn't listen.

That was the last time I visited there, and it set the wheel in motion to purchase my own compressor and start blending 32%, since no one in my area did nitrox. Now I pretty much buy everything off the internet, and only use Aquarius on Del Monte when in Monterey, since they have never given me grief. My vis sticker shows my tank as ready for up to 40%. All the nitrox bands seem to do is corrode the metal underneath them. No thanks!

Wow,

I can't believe what I started, by asking about those darn Nitrox stickers, sorry... I didn't have any problems at Any Water Sports in San Jose. They told me that they have heard that MBDC is one shop that will usually turn away a Nitrox fill if the wrap is not present on the tank...

Since I converted over three tanks with O2 cleanning, two 100 HP steels and one 19 cf aluminum I went without Nitrox bands.

According to AWS, their VIS sticker which is Red and white will indicate what the heck gas I'm allowed to fill in that bottle. They have Nitrox banked, and if I'm at a place that mixes the gas in my tank, I qualify for that because I'm O2 cleaned.

There is no other need for me to have an extra green sticker telling other divers I carry Nitrox, the little Red Vis sticker already states that.

I do however, have my 6cf Argon bottle with a sticker that says, "Don't breathe, ARGON GAS"...
