For those of you in the know, what does Atomic mean when they talk about the second stage using metal parts?

Materials: State of the art metals. Monel™ parts are used internally in the first stage for its high strength; corrosion resistance and oxygen compatibility. Type 316 Stainless Steel, Palladium/Zirconium coated Brass, and Titanium are used throughout the second stage.

I'm assuming that the second stage is plastic unlike Mares' second stages being all metal. So is the air barrel metal?

Thanks for your help.

The functional parts (valve, lever, etc) are metal. The outside is plastic.

I've got a Z1 and an M1 and wouldn't trade them for anything.

Excellent point. I found that my B2 breathed better as well, as I got deeper, to the point that I have to de-tune it just a bit when I reach about 80-90 feet. Almost feels as if the gas is being forced into your mouth.

Both mine and my wife's B2s honk out of the water (as does my Atomic SS1). It has never affected performance at all. I'm a *big* fan of the Atomic.

thats because of the 'Jet Seat' piston design which atomic use. If you could attach an interstage pressure gauge to your reg an the dive with it, you would find that your IP would rise the deeper you go, kind of like the way Aqualung Legends do, ..only atomic acheive this performance using a different method.
