Call John at Northeast Scuba Supply - he seems to be an Atomic dealer - doesn't have the conversion kits listed on his site, but says he sells them (and is perfectly happy to let you instal it...)

Edit: They're listed - $139 for the Brass kit.
Much appreciated - I think I'm going to avoid mixing metals at this point though

If you plan to regularly switch it back and forth might be (slightly) alright to mix metals

But still risky to leave steel or brass onto Ti, and galling is a serious risk
Oof. yeah

Are you going to buy a Chinese copy of a part for a premium US-made TITANIUM regulator??? Am I getting this right?

Just buy the real thing locally and be happy, feeling safe and secure...

(This is like buying a Rolls Royce and then buying a spare tire knock-offs from China)

Was never a serious consideration for myself, but still curious what others thought of them and I didn't see any previous threads on the part, so figured I'd start one

On mixing metals, what are your hose ends made of?

Great point!
I don’t know of it’s hypochondriac of me, but after the dive trip/week is done I’d take off the hoses of my mk25T for storage, even the (in a pinch) brass pot plugs before storage

I think for the week of diving itself, it should be alright

Probably overkill, but to do that for the DIN retainer is a whole other level

Edit: you had a mk20:5UL with a brass DIN, do you leave it on?

For travel I just switch the DIN fitting for a yoke it’s just easier than messing with the adapter but I’m not using titanium.

Edit, I had not clicked the link and assumed a spin on adaptor was the point of discussion, the pictures look like a legit part, the seller maybe not. If eBay backs this up it may be worth the risk.

Paragon offers the Ti din fitting for $320, I would go with them (contact them directly and you can probably save more)

There are multiple issues with such products.
  • Likely violating design patent copyrights
  • Likely poor quality materials
  • Likely poor quality manufacturing
  • Definitely gray market
  • Being sold in a way to circumnavigate US customs.
For me personally I would not buy and encourage others not to buy as well. To the point that after seeing the listing I alerted Atomics directly and debated on starting a SB thread.

If one really wants a Ti DIN regulator one should just watch fleabay for a used one. Then one has a yoke and DIN and no mucking about swapping other than hoses.

A Shameless plug I have two DIN versions to rebuild that at some point will be listed on da board for probably for a bit more than the cost of just the DIN assembly alone. I also has two new Ti DIN assemblies. I like Ti and Ti likes me.

I honestly won't judge anyone who buys the knock off parts, but personally I could not bring myself to put non-original parts on such a high end reg. Well, with the exception of titanium or steel jam nuts. That part is simple enough that someone with a track record making parts can be trusted (I hope).

I once could not get a T2X yoke socket to seal with an original oring that looked perfectly fine to me. Tried a new one and it worked. So the tolerances are tight. If the source is questionable I'd also wonder if the alloy is the one advertised.

Also, this might be hard to resell.

Perhaps the thing to do would be to contact them and ask for a freebie or loaner to review and post here on SB.

Last not least: shoot, soon we'll have to watch out for Atomic counterfeits on Ebay!

@Scared Silly Please let me know if you're actually selling a couple of Titanium DIN conversion kits. I have a couple of Atomic T-Series regulators that have just been collecting dust as I almost never dive a Yoke regulator and have an application I'd now like to use them for

Looks kinda fishy

Honestly, and besides the alloy matching (if it’s even TI); the surface finish in some of the pictures looks very „textured“
I’d be more concerned with tolerance for a good seal

No way it's Ti.

If you're into disappointment as a hobby buy one, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the purchase.

No thanks 😅
Only DIN regs in my stable (except historical ones)

If it was a SP mk20/18 UL din adapter copy.. well maybe I’d be open for try at the Chinese roulette (NLA status + a stash of yoke ULs=desperate)
