If you go out for a lunch and only have a couple of drinks you are probably good to go. Again depending on the person you might be as high as a .04 but thats probably on the high side. Please dont take this as true legal advice however. This is just my personall opinion.

Drinking and driving should never be encouraged. I do not care if it is one or two drinks. Each person tolerates alcohol differently especially if they are on any medications and drinking. Believe me, I have seen many accidents that would give others night mares. Christmas eve I just lifted off a mother and her two children who were hit by a drunk. All of them passed away. The drunk passed away as well which was a WONDERFUL thing. All to often the drunks live.

That is just a really inappropriate thing to say.
"The drunk passed away as well which was a WONDERFUL thing. All to often the drunks live."

But hey, just my opinion.

A question about freebies. There is a local convenience store that gives coffee to the county officers for free. The shop also allows the officers to use their restroom, the restroom is off limits to the public. From what I understand the coffee is available to any uniformed officer working out of the nearby precinct, there are no rules about who can and who can't get it.

Do you accept the free beverage and relief facilities? (Which also means you are inside with AC or heat depending on the season.)

(Edited because TJcop noted an omission. )

Suddenly jumping out of your car on a traffic stop BTW is not recommended unless you like staring down the barrel of a gun.

It was RCMP. They're not very quick to draw their guns. I think if you pulled a stunt like that in the States you'd be lucky not to get shot.

I have another story from Dave that I like..... We were driving in city traffic behind a guy who was particularly sloooowww doing everything. Dave started to complain about him and when the guy nearly stopped for the second green light in a row Dave was in full moan about it. I said "Don't tell me....tell him". He looked at me and didn't say anything and then rolled down the window as fast as he could hung 1/2 out of the car and screamed at the top of his lungs "DRIVE IT OR PARK IT GRANDPA!!!"

Had us rolling on the floor about it for about 10 minutes. LOL

There really wasn't any question in your post...just a statement. But I'm guessing that you are questioning whether officers are allowed these freebies?
In my department, the free cup of coffee or meal isn't a big deal. Now, I NEVER assume it's free, even when it's the same employee. I always go to the cashier. If I'm given a free meal, I leave a large tip...usually close to the amount of the meal, so I can justify it if needed.
As far as the bathrooms, it's a private business and the owner/management can do what they please. If they say it's ok for officers to use it...then it's ok.

What is absolutely the funniest thing you have run into while on duty? I mean from us common folk.

Oh man...that's a tough one.

I've been called an Osama Bin Laden looking mother-f'er....and I'm Italian!

I had a suspect fart on my Sgt's head while searching him.

I've pepper sprayed my Sgt. by acident.

I've seen a 16 year old kid pee his pants in front of all his friends because he was nervous.

I've had lovely young ladies skinny dipping in the county pool after hours juggle their...ahem...jumblies in front of me and ask "Pleeeeaassse..can we go just a bit longer" (yes, they got to swim a bit more :P )

I arrested Santa after a long Holloween party. The booking photo was priceless!

I'm sure I'll think of more later.

Oh man, TJ!! Those are hilarious!! Why'd ya' have to go and arrest Santa, though? He didn't bring me a GPS last year, so he's on my "naughty" list. (Which means I'll be rigging the chimney with claymore mines, shooting the reindeer, and poisoning the milk and cookies. "Have a holly jolly Christmas.....":evilo: :evilsmile :56: :xmas_2:

Thanks for your "opinion" . When you loose a close one or see the loss of life that the Drunks cause maybe you will feel diferently. I have seen the damage for years. No sympathy here believe me. Drinking and driving is done on their own and they get what they deserve.. just like the druggies... I wonder how one would attempt to explain how they lost their four year old due to a drunk yet the drunk is walking around and sitting in a bar.. When one puts a gun in their mouth and it goes off it is that persons stupidity.. Inappropriate is an idiot on the road drunk killing families.
