I will be going to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos next week.

Inasmuch as I'm trying to keep my checked luggage weight as low as possible I'm trying to decide which set of fins/booties to bring that is "full foot w/lighter booties" or "open foot with heavier duty booties".

I use the latter in places which have more currents (like Cozumel) because the fins allow for more leg power but they do weigh more.

Any suggestions friends?

T&C isn't known for currents and I don't recall currents anyplace I've dove there (West Caicos, Grand Turk, South Caicos, Salt Cay.)

From my week of experience diving TCI. I think there was 1 dive in 30 that there was a noticeable current and it was not bad. Think it was just hitting the exact combo of location and tide state but otherwise do not remember any current to speak of. Take the lighter ones.

Not in my experience, mostly all no current dives.

I did a week there liveabaord diving in June and never encountered any currents worth mentioning.
