Ain't gonna happen. IPOs generally not an option for a turnaround. More likely they sell off the good bits and liquidate what's left.
Yes. I said that was the most common outcome.

I guess I wasn't clear enough that I was speaking generally about situations like this. I have no special knowledge of Barings' plans or AL's situation.

I loved Diving. Things were different back in the early 60's.
It was a lot simpler.
There wasn’t all this political crap surrounding diving like there is now.
The freedive/skindiving group still seems to be pretty cohesive, but not scuba diving.
If Aqualung goes belly up it will be a huge blow to the history of diving and an iconic company that started it all. There is such a thing as getting too big.

Does it make sense to buy any of their gear if there is questions about the longevity of their support and warranty?

If I were considering any of their hard goods, I'd wait until the end of 24' before I'd buy anything.

It's certainly something to consider. If I were thinking about a purchase, it would come down to the discount and type of equipment. For example, if they made my favorite mask, I'd probably buy a spare now and keep an eye out for closeout pricing so I could get a lifetime's worth. OTOH, I wouldn't even consider buying one of their dive computers.

Regs are somewhere in the middle. Service parts won't be a problem, but I'd probably only get a model that's both deeply discounted and has been out a while so I could scavenge other parts if necessary down the road.

I'm confused by who owns whom. If AquaLung goes under, does that affect (for example) PPS or Oceanic or Huish?

AFAIK, PPS is Aqualung but it has roots with Oceanic(2002 Designs). Huish would be fine but a lot of dive computers if they aren’t Scubapro(Uwatec), Suunto, Garmin or Shearwater, they’re PPS or Epson based.
