Apo Island dive

one of the better ones would be atlantis - dennis should be chiming in soon, he dove with them

bahura resort i was there before they opened - looks like a great place and when i dove with them i was ok with the operation

I dove with Paul's diving and stayed at Liberty Lodge. I really enjoyed it. It was only a 20 minute boat ride to any of the sites on the island. I was there 5 days and really enjoyed diving all the site multiple times. One advantage of diving with an operation off the island would be some other dive sites but I liked the site on the island a lot and it was nice to get more familiar with them.

I would say that Apo Island had the best all around diving for me. There were some schools of jacks and barracuda as well as nudibranch and little stuff. No huge walls but I prefer the little stuff. A night dive in front of the lodge wasn't bad either.

Do the dive shops on bohol (Alona beach) run day trips to Apo Isl. or it too far?

Ya pak, they do run trips. I believe they also go to sumilon island as well.


@ amc: here are some threads that maybe useful. When Spoon and I went, we went through ScubaVentures (ScubaV is the member) and had a blast. I don't think they do accomodations though - just diving.

Apo Island is some great diving, have only used Atlantis and they were great!
Don't forget to bring some $5's for the t-shirt ladies, great t-shirts great price!

Atlantis is over in dumaguete right? I keep hearing the diving there isn't really worth it... hmm... Maybe do Bohol and Apo and skip Dumaguete?

I'm in agreement on Atlantis...they go to Apo at least once a week for a 3 dive trip. It's a very nice, comfortable resort. They also have a very unique house reef. Other boat trips include Sumilon Islands and Sikijor (sp).

Try El Dorado in Dumaguete. Fab food, 20 minutes to Apo Island, reasonably priced.

How is Apo Island diving compared to Verde Island diving?

And I keep hearing about Anilao.......I am into macro critters WITH good visibility, although that might be a contradiction, lol.
