Although my screen name says I AM a rebreather superhero, freakishly large heads on divers are like kryptonite to me.....they make me go hypercapnic and send my p02 off the scale.

dunno about flamboyant cuttelfish, but there are definitely pygmy and reg seahorses in PG

On the dive brief boards at Atlantis PG they have photos of the stuff they've seen.....flamboyant cuttlefish is one of them......same goes for pygmy seahorses....hey, is it politically incorrect to say "pygmy" sea horses as opposed to say, "little hippocampus"? Or vertically challenged sea horse maybe.....

It is interesting how the smaller cuttlefish let me get right up to them and gently cradle them in my palm without displaying signs of stress, whereas the larger ones would only let me get about a couple of feet away....that is probably how they got big, by not letting big predators get close....

As a kid I remember the folks buying cuttlefish bone for pet parakeets to gnaw on to keep their beaks trimmed....I never made the connection.......now I find the concept utterly immoral that anyone would buy that bleached white flattened cuttlefish bone for their parakeets beak when a garnet/sand covered foot perch will accomplish the same thing and rocks didn't have to give up their life for it.

a recent study that said that the Philippines is the center of marine biodiversity in the whole world have indicated that the verde passage has the highest concentration on a per unit area of marine specie. PG is in closer proximity to the verde passage than Anilao. But anilao is the next closest and Apo Reef 3rd.

hehehe..seriously, you should do Anilao.

Basura in Anilao is were the weird stuff are. The other freakishly bigheads here can attest to that.
