RebreatherSuperHero:
In 6 days of diving PG, I didn't find any flambouyant cuttelfish, nor ghost pipefish or pygmy seahorses or any seahorses for that matter. I am returtning to PG the end of next week and hope I can get some HD video footage of the above.

That's pretty unlucky. Ghost pipefish usually around the Sabang wrecks. Pygmy seahorses often by Dry Docks. Sea horses around the ropes and general detritus near the floating bar.

Saw all of the above bar the flamboyant cuttlefish last time I was there in two dives. Got some good flamboyant cuttle fish snaps the time before round at the sea grass bay (near the start of Kilima Drift).

Sometimes it depends who you dive with and whether you get to tell them "I want to see X" and they listen...

welcome to ppd

Larry, you are the man, nothing like a by the numbers roadmap for me!

I did 3 dives at Sabang wrecks....depends on which Sabang wrecks you mean though....

One was some sort of large bankga with the twin engines still in place, there I always saw a large black frogfish, a resident moray eel and zillions of those striped shrimp commensal to eels, cleaner shrimp hanging out with the same eel, and a mantis shrimp with a mean streak a mile wide.....another was some smaller sailboat I think, squeezed inside the cabin....another wreck is taller and batfish liked to hang out near the stern rudder.

I didn't dive around the floating bar......I will have to look this time around.....

Gotta find out where seagrass bay is, although there seems to be plenty of seagrass right in the front bay.... Funny how my group complained about our second dive in PG in the front bay as "sucking" when I saw a pair of razorfish doing their vertical impression...just those guys made that dive totally worthwhile for me.....but the group I was with is never pleased unless they see a huge shark, a huge manta or a huge whale shark....I like the bizarre critters myself.....

It is interesting that pretty much all the stuff you mentioned seems to be right out in front....protected waters with reduced current flow for the things that dont' swim so well....

Where is "Dry Docks" for the pygmy seahorses? And whern you say sea horses at the "ropes", you mean the mooring ropes for the floating bars?
