Out of curiosity, I'm going to get one and have a play. I like the satin so will try a diaphragm clamp from a DS4 and a satin diaphragm end cap from a FST and see if that combination will work.

The only thing that gives me pause is if the DB4 bottom O ring fits into a recess in the diaphragm clamp or the new body. I'll post back if anyone's interested.

The FSR and FST diaphragms are reusable so I guess just stock up on some. Not a big fan of the plastic cap at all, plastic breaks and this new design adds two additional O rings, admittedly not crucial for functioning, but still.

38mm = inch and a half, so shouldn't be too difficult to find.
However if the plastic end cap is damaged then it would be very difficult to find a spare one. The original hydrostatic diaphragm is part of the 1st stage service kit so it is readily available.
Apeks is probably going to replace all the metal end caps with this stupid design!

I thought the MTX was the reg supplied to the UK military now? An all black version of the MTX-R

True. Never felt the need for two, I guess if I had one seize together that might change. Why do you like two out of curiosity?

Military are slow to change and the MTX-R, although designed for US Navy experimental diving unit testing criteria, is unlikely to have gone through a military procurement process yet.

The plastic caps are supposed to increase resistance to free flows if the first stage gets ice build up around it. So extreme cold water.

Waiting on confirmation but am hoping it's still going to be one kit for first stages. I'm gonna guess the Flight will go the way of the dinosaurs, good riddance.
