Aagh! It's a left-hand thread. I'm glad I didn't use the sledge hammer.

Had a chance to test the second stage and disassemble. Will try to post in a week or two. Have only intermittent internet right now.

It's fairly impressive, notwithstanding the plastic bits.
Haha hanging out for your review before I purchase

I'm a little overtasked right now, and don't really have the time to make a full report. Suffice it to say, when I put it on a "Pete Wolfinger" flow bench, inhalation effort was 1" @ 2 SCFM decreasing to 0" at about 14 SCFM. It crossed lightly into freeflow above that flow, and maxed out at about +2" at 27 SCFM.
Granted, this is all surface gas density. But the point is, the Venturi was effective and smooth, unlike some designs that become wildly unstable at high flow.

Someone else has commented upon the reverse threading of some components, so it will be an inexperienced Technician's nightmare. Lots of plastic bits.

But barrel stabilization is better than the XTX50, and flow is very smooth.

I don't understand why this regulator is not more hyped, marketed and reviewed on all media channels, such as YouTube, forums, blog. The Apeks XTX 50/200 (essentially same regulator) is a super popular regulator for recreational and technical diving. How come there is virtually no hype, no marketing, no reviews of the successor of on of the most popular and well established regulators, the EVX 200? Especially as it is also one of the very few new regulators that came out in the past years.

I've just had a look and it's retailing at £800 and almost £1000 for a first stage, 2nd stage and octopus in the UK. I suspect that is maybe why it died on its arse. Add to that Aqualung didn't really seem to know what to do with Apeks (other than ratchet up the prices) in the last couple of years.
