A...... I'd avoid it until they have an election and things settle back down.
when it comes to fiji and coups... just stay out of suva and you'll be fine

this coup was very polite... during the week the army removed the guns from the police while the police held the door open for them and shared some ciggys.

the coup was suppose to happen by friday but the inter-force rugby finals was happening so everyone went to watch/play a few matches and it rolled into monday before anything happened

its not good for business but i wouldnt let it put me off

cheers

Papua New Guinea has some of the best and varied diving and is close to Coral Sea and Barrier Reef depending on your funds and time.

thanks for all the suggestions everyone! theres so many possibilities...of course study abroad is about learning about other cultures and i absolutely love that so i think somewhere like the phillippines would be amazing but plane tickets are ridiculous! not just to there but everywhere!

Dude, I am in love with tropical Islands...However, if it was for five months and school related I would pick OZ.

what exactly will you be studying??

Monkey, hubby and i was in micronesia ealier this year and he was fasinated with the toilets flushing the wrong way

my major is exercise science but I am going to take all the serious courses I will need to take next year in the summer so while I am abroad I can take all my humanities which will be awesome because I can learn about the culture where I living instead of learning about us government of something like that here

I'd head to the NW corner of Australia and divide my time between diving and gold prospecting. You'd

I'd head to the NW corner of Australia and divide my time between diving and gold prospecting. You'd need a good vehicle and camping gear for running around in the bush.
