1/4 mile? I wouldn't have guessed that far. 200 yards or so I'd guess. But I will say that it feels like a 1/4 or more when you've got on wetsuit, tanks, weights, etc and it's hot out.
Here's an overview map with indications of where you park and where the dive entry point is.... walk along the area indicated by the red line.
Here's a "close up" of the parking area and the beach access point. You walk down the sand along that long wall you see in the pic.

Depending on where one parts, it can be a lot more than a 1/4 mile, but if near the shower, is not bad. I notice no one mentions that this is over very soft sand.

Look at your picture... Thats alot more than 200 yards, I'd imagine I can stack 4 or 5 football fields in that little route - LOL 
I'm thinking 150 yards from the trail head to the water at its nearest point, but farther to the divesite itself.

Looks like about 500 yards from trailhead to the jetties(the short outcropping about halfway down before you get to the southernmost point), 1760 yards in a mile
Up to another 500 yards of parking till the dead end - ick!

well I've had to park "way on down there" also... that wasnt much fun either.
Does look to be about 500 yards by your map scale. (Not that I really needed to know it was that far I had to walk though!)

nah... Fred would just use it to blow sand and water around and act like he could walk on water, etc... Of course it'd be funny to watch him sink and the expression on his face when he ran out of jet-pack-fuel.
