GLENFWB:
Just wondering if anybody is planning on diving the Destin jetties anytime soon? Any chance for a dive this Friday?

I haven't been to Destin Jetties but would be up for it or perhaps Morrison Friday if you still want to go.

I haven't been to Destin Jetties. Would like to at some point also. Can't do it this weekend, maybe I'll catch up with you sometime soon. The only thing that makes me shudder about it is having seen the walk from the parking lot to the jetties. It isn't the getting there that's the problem, it's the getting back! :)

How far is the walk? I might need to recruit my teenage son to do my hauling. :lol2:

Start recruiting! It is a good healthy walk even if you do manage to park close to the beach access. Sea Yoda or SBM could provide a better pace count. It is doable in one trip. Some say it is easier to get into the water as son as possible and float your gear to the dive site.

Well allrighty then! I think the longest walk I've had to a dive spot is about 1/4 mile and it wasn't too bad. I run 5k races (no danger of winning one) and lift a little so I'm in better shape than most 40-somethings.

Thanks for the info Phil

Its about 1/4 mile, atleast its been cool lately :) 1/4 mile turns into a marathon when its 95F outside :D Especially with multiple tanks...

I can imagine, but I'm only taking one tank at a time so it'll just be a mini-marathon. :D

So is it worth the walk? I guess any dive is worth the effort isn't it?
