Total B.S. all they have to do is contact the manufacturer for the REE number. Add this one to the ever-growing pile of hydro idiocy.

Why would you think that a hydro facility who presses 250-1,000 cylinders per day would care about looking up the REE for one scuba customer for one lousy $20 hydro? Not that they don't care about customer service, but geez, I don't do as much research for one customer as I would for a whole boat charter. I'd do exactly what the hydro facilities said, look up the REE yourself and bring it in, and I'll put a + stamp on for you.

For the OP. It's way easier to get tank fillers to not observe safe filling limits if you slip a few LP85's in with the HP100's, as they are about the same size on the outside. An LP95 is pretty obvious when looked at, so you have to convince someone to cave fill it. I actually had a tank filler put a 3300 PSI fill on an LP95 once and the customer screamed at me that I would have to replace his cylinder and regulator (yoke) because my deckhand ruined it. I offered to let the extra 660 PSI out of the cylinder before he took it diving, would that be OK? Turns out that yes, that would be fine.

But he never came back.....

Try Steve Ladd's Shop Ocean Adventures on Lincoln in Venice.

Will do, thanks!

That's funny! Must have been a newly certified diver and definitely not a Scuababoard member.

Not saying that all Scubaboard members overfill LP tanks but at least he or she will know that there is no need to freak out over it when it does happen.

That is hilarious! I am an active cave diver and in florida cave country we always get a 3500psi fill in our LP faber 95's without even asking and regardless of the stamp! If a dive shop wouldn't do this we wouldn't get our tanks filled there.

That is hilarious!
It sure as heck is!
