Hello diverrick:

The replies concerning the altitude tables from NOAA are very good.

One big difference between flying and driving is the ascent time. It requires considerable time for an auto to ascend and cross a mountain pass. A plane will reach altitude within a few minutes. This represents considerable time lost for off gassing.

skierbri10:
read up on what the FAA has to say about it. Of course you will lose your flying certificate and diving cert.

I am not quite certain what you are trying to say here. Mind explaining your statement further?

In regards to the above, if you are injured in a DCS incident, and you lose your medical, you will have to jump through hoops to get it back. There are procedures for this. You do not, however, lose your flight licenses.

If you get DCS, you will not lose your diving certificates. You should not dive until a physician trained in dive medicine and DCS problems evaluates and clears you, but no one will "take" or cancel your diving certifications.
