Hi guys, have another question about this.

It is a direct drive S-W 43040-301-01 compressor. What is the maintainability and parts availability of this?

Also, do you know what the duty cycle and what pressure it's rated for?

It is running Anderol 500. Would this work for <40% continuous blending of Nitrox?

Looks like it would be just the thing for my houseboat.

The SW 4 cfm pumps were built 1960's. Home builders scavange them from Army, Air Force ground support equipment. I believe there are still a couple of the GSE trailers for sale on govliquidation.com. They are new, NOS. Anyway, there are no parts, just pick up an extra compressor for spare. The 4 cfm pumps are very sturdy and will sometimes outlive the owner. Recently, a fellow bought an original Cornelius which had 13,000 hours on the clock. Like all compressors, there are a lot of moving parts which are easy to break but with proper installation and maintenance, they last and last. The Navy diver version of this unit was filled with medicinal grade mineral oil. Equivalent modern oil is Nuvair 455, also best for NITROX and hot weather running. Anderol 555 also OK for extreme hot weather due to viscosity. It can be used with NITROX in warm weather but use caution in hot weather. Mobil JET II is probably best for the machine itself over wide temp range. I don't know about NITROX but this oil is reputed to have high oxidation resistance and a high flash point. It has low-to-no toxicity when air is filtered. Nuvair 455 has moderately high flash point, the highest oxidation resistance and is classified food grade while Anderol 555 has moderate oxidation, moderately high flash and low-to-no toxicity when used with a qualified filtration system.

Forgot about those other questions: max WP is 3500 psi. This is military equipment. Duty cycle is continuous at 3000 psi. Navy, EOD versions used a 5 gallon fuel tank!

The crucial issues are clocked hours and method of installation. The compressor is bolted to the engine through the shaft. The joining of these components must not put excess thrust on the compressor shaft bearings. Not a problem is done correctly.
