Waiting with bated breath...

I checked them both out in person, next to a Petrel 2. They're both excellent, but I had to pass on the H3 for dry suit diving because I think it would be challenging to hit the buttons with the suit and dry gloves.

Interesting. I don't have any trouble with the buttons on my Atom 3 when I'm dry and wearing 3mm neoprene gloves. Do you think the H3 buttons would be more challenging than the buttons on an Atom? I haven't seen an H3 in person, I have no idea.

Does your computer do this? :)

Check out the H3's Near Field Communications technology here: https://www.facebook.com/SubGravityDiveGear

It's just a short little snippet. We'll put up a more in-depth video of the NFC function soon!

Somewhat more fiddly than my Suunto D4i.

The T1 is a really great size for dry suit diving and a little smaller than a petrel. The scroll wheel is great. I would have bought this, but I was able to get a Petrel 2 for $300 less. Priced the same, I would probably have went T1.

Who am I kidding, I'll probably end up with both :D

I think you will find that the H3 buttons are quite easy to access and press even with heavy gloves or dry gloves on due to the unique position of the buttons on the lower corners of the unit. Next time you are in one of our dealers' shop, stick on a pair of gloves and give it a try.

Do iPhones even have NFC?
They do, but at the moment it's only being used on i-devices as a component of Apple Pay. It's not clear when or if Apple will unlock NFC for the kind of general data transfer that bluetooth can currently be used for, the talk is more for things like transit tickets, activating locks, or ATM functions- basically a system for payments. That could change...

Do you have a dealer with an H3 in stock anywhere near Manassas, VA?

Also, any update on the question about AI and it being taken off the SeaBear website?

I was reading through the H3 manual. I don't see an NDL table in the manual. Is there one anywhere?

Also, the manual says that the default for no decompression diving is GF35/85. It doesn't give any hint that you can change that, for no decompression diving. If the user does set it for, say, a custom GF Hi and GF Lo, I assume that those numbers will be used when calculating NDLs (e.g. when using the H3 for Recreational dives)?

What I really want to know is how the H3 NDLs compare to a Recreational computer that uses Buhlmann and does not support GF. I have this suspicion that using an H3 for Recreational dives is going to give shorter NDLs than my Oceanic Atom 3 does (when the Atom is set to DSAT algorithm and no Conservatism Factor). But maybe there is a GF setting that will give approximately the same results on either (given that the Atom DSAT algorithm says it's based on ZHL-16C).

If there is no published NDL chart for the H3, can somebody who has one use planning mode to check some?

The manual for the Atom says this (for DSAT at 0 altitude on air):

60' - 57 minutes
100' - 19
130' - 11

Related question: Is the use of GF100/100 for NDL diving expected to give the same results as a Rec computer that uses Buhlmann ZHL-16C with no GF? Or is there a presumption that these Rec computers have a GF setting that they just don't tell you what it is or let you change it? So, every Rec computer could be different for that just depending on what GF the manufacturer chose to use?

Also, still anxiously waiting for news on the H3 AI transmitter.
