I could swear I've seen a few fish swimming in and out of the anenomes. I know I was seeing some small fish with a brown front half, white back half swimming in very tight promity to them.
I don’t think these anemones sting as bad as the Indo-Pacific species. Even if they do, some fishes other than clowns are resistant.

You should try lionfish. Very light flavor and eating them is good for the reef.
Nope.

I am going to say yes- pics from my last trip- just a few of dozens- Seeing them everywhere.

To each their own, but La Perlita in Cozumel does a great job with lionfish. Very fresh and tender, can be cooked several ways (fried in coconut batter is my favorite). I'm a bit picky about seafood, but their lionfish is not fishy tasting and is actually more mild than most fish (fresh or saltwater) I've had, and actually probably more mild than shrimp.

The owner spears it fresh daily. La Pearlita is an awesome place. I may need to go there tomorrow for the coconut batter. I've tried it grilled, and ceviche. The citrus of the ceviche is too overpowering . I bet the coconut batter is phenomenal.

Yes, there are fish here that swim among the tentacles. Most memorable, I came across a purple tipped giant anemone full of tiny, coppery red cardinal fish. Photographer friend was disappointed that the pics didn’t come out, as the colors were remarkable. Have seen small wrasses and some other fish, too.

Snoweman, you need to try lionfish ceviche again, made by someone else. Lionfish has a lovely sweet flavor, and made with barely enough lime to cover the fish, it’s about the best ceviche going!

I’ve kept different kinds of anemones in my home aquarium. The condis look nice, but I’ve never found a fish that will host them. Clownfish do well in bubble tip, carpet and other ‘Nems but they ignore the condis.
