We just returned after diving 9 great days with Air Dive Alor in Alor-NTT Indonesia in April 2025. This is my 3rd trip with Air Dive Alor.
Viz are not as great as the 1st trip I went in October 2023. Water is colder at average 26-28 Deg C in most dive sites.
We encountered 21 Deg C at Anemone City south of Pura Island which nearly freeze my brain off with me wearing only 3mm Wetsuit and Vest.

Macro are great with plenty of ghost pipe fish, frog fish and 2 rhinopias etc.
Marine life and coral garden are as usual some of the best. We are lucky to see a small school Hammerheads at Munaseli during my trip there.

We also made a side trip on the last dive day to visit Mawar the Dugong near Mali Airport.

I was also just there 13-21 April staying at Nautika so your video is a nice reminder, although we didn't find the yellow rhinopia! I agree I also found the vis a bit disappointing as I was expecting Alor to have better visibility.

We did get lucky with the hammerheads and had some good encounters over 4 dives at Munaseli, the first dive only 1, then the day after appearing in greater numbers with around 20+ in clear view plus more in the deeper water. However the day before we left, it seems they had moved on as another group reported no sightings.

We are there from 13-21 April too!! We might have met each other on the plane! haha
Viz is much better when I am there in October 2023. Bama Wall is like 60m viz. The Viz at Bama for this trip is not so good.

Where you in the group of 3 sitting at the front of the Kupang flight on 21st? And I think you visited the dugong on the 20th??

Yes we were a little disappointed by the vis but we still enjoyed the dive site topography and hammers plus I was able to finally tick off the halimeda ghost pipefish!

We are a group of 4 actually but yes 3 of us are sitting in front. Are you the couple who are from Nautika on another boat for the dugong? If it is you, I recall that you are holding your Nauticam RX100V Housing on the 21st flight from Alor to Kupang.

We saw the pair of Halimeda ghost pipefish on the last dive at Babylon / Biatabang. The topo at Biatabang is amazing too.

I love Alor so much I already booked my slot to go back for the 4th time next year! hehe

We found a purple and a yellow weedy rhinopias in the bay.
They were there for many days in a row.

We got lucky with the hammerheads only one day.

I think that is the 2 rhinopias I saw. Yes we are lucky with the Hammerheads for only 1 dive out of 3 dives there for this trip.
