Uncle Pug,
You've got me even more excited to follow your suggestion to dive Cove 2. I've decided that I will no longer judge a dive site based on what I see on the surface. When I saw pictures of Cove2 I thought "Cove2 is too close to town, probably high boat traffic, noise, litter & junk, too many people...". Wow. Looks like I was very wrong. Now my thoughts are more along the lines of "Cove 2 is a Secret Garden!".

It can be a Secret Garden or it can be a dust bowl.... timing is everything.

If you dive it on a Saturday while a pod of rototillers is in session it will look more like diving the Snake River.

These are some more Cove 2 photos to wet your appetite (from my gallery here on SB.)

Cove 2 can be full of treasures, or it can be a lot of silty bottom with old tires. Some of it depends on how well you navigate (not my strong suit), some of it depends on the luck of the day, and some of it depends on whether you have eagle-eyed critter-spotters with you, like Uncle Pug or NW Grateful Diver :)

Funny you would say that. Most of my diving has been in the Snake River! :biggrin2: Growing up my house was 200 yards from the Henry's Fork. Great fly fishing, but for diving it's everything you hoped it wouldn't be. Thanks. You've painted a vivid mental picture for me. he he. I can't wait to get in salt water. 48 days and counting.

That is why I said it. Seeing where you live and that all of your diving has been in fresh water... I figured you probably had gone Braille Diving in the Snake more than once. :D

As for painting a picture... I hope I haven't set you up for disappointment. To see things at Cove 2 you need to stay off the bottom and use non-silting fin kicks when you move from place to place. You see more if you move less and spend time looking.

Hope you have a great time at Cove 2 and and EUP as well. Look for a thread on Edmonds Underwater Park images coming soon to a Scuba Board near you. :D

Thanks UP,
I realize that brochures always show what it's possible to see, not what you can expect to see every time. Just knowing the potential is there is enough for me. :D

Nice pics U.P. :) - One of these days I gotta get over there and try some of these PNW sites I keep seeing pics from...

Glad you were able to get back in the water again -

TSandM - Hope you get back in your fins again soon (see you should have stayed on Maui - lol)

Aloha, Tim
