Just wondering what people are paying for air fills lately. The place I use in South Attleboro recently went up 33% ($40 for 10 fills, from $30) for an AL80.

Anybody getting a better deal?

Yeah! PG Dive in Newton is doing two free air fills per diver per day. I hear South Shore Divers in Weymouth is doing free fills now too.

The store I go to normally gives me free air, and when I try to pay them, they refuse it.

I spend lots of money there on technical gear, however.

Currently I have a special order item that they placed for me for a HP transfill hose.

Then next I will probably order two more sets of steel doubles.

Nitrox fills are about $10 per tank, which to me is a bargain.

I cannot speak for New England though. But people being human, I would think that it all depends on how much you support your local scuba store.

$12 a week to get my doubles filled. I know it's more than what I could be paying elsewhere but it's the shop closest to my work (Mass Diving).

I think free air at PG is great. I have heard that the wait for fills is several hours in most cases. I have not been there myself but this is what I have been told by others who have. Great deal if you have the time but I prefer to watch my fills to make sure I leave with full tanks. MSilvia have you had to wait for air at PG?

No, whenever I've gone in (usually right after work on a weeknight) they've hooked me up with a nice slow while-I-wait fill of my doubles right away... or if not right away, after offering me a drink and finishing up with the customer they're already dealing with.

If you go in on a friday evening or weekend morning, YMMV.

That is good service. My friends must have gone in at inopportune times.

Fills in this part of the world go from $5-$8 per 80cf. I guess they have to make up for a smaller market here.

One caveat: The air at PG isn't certified grade E, so if you're going to use your tank for partial pressure blending of nitrox (or otherwise exposing the insides of it to >40% oxygen), you don't want it.
