After several years of doing resort courses when on vacation I finally buckled down in 2010 and earned NAUI scuba diver certification and also NAUI nitrox certification.

Still to come in 2010 is introducing my daughter and son in law to diving while visiting the Florida Keys later this month. Hopefully they will both decide to follow through and get certified as well!

For 2011 the only thing definite for me is diving in the BVI in February. After that I will try to formulate a plan. Some things I'm thinking about are;

- Buying some of my own equipment (I already have mask, fins, snorkel, dive computer and compass)

- Investigate drysuits. Certainly if I want to do any diving around here (Wisconsin) a drysuit would be appropriate, but I need to think about our winter trips to the tropics as well and buy equipment accordingly.

- Look into what other certifications I might want to pursue. I guess advanced scuba diver would be an appropriate next step. Beyond that, who knows!

In general I just want to get some experience under my belt and see where my diving life leads me. After years of thinking about it I'm finally doing it!!
