Completed PADI Rescue Diver in July, just before my 60th birthday.

Congrats! Good for you! I'm not far behind you, having just turned 55. I'm plotting my course for equipment, advanced certifications, and dive trips as we speak (or type). I shoulda started this earlier in life!! What was I thinkin'!!

Get OW certification!
Have done 10 dives so far in almost 2 months
Started buying my own gear
Spearfishing

Goals in 2011
get AOW
take a dive trip out of my home state

2009 - Get AOW & EaNx certifed before end of year, get all own gear (all achieved) and head to Great Barrier Reef as reward ...

2010 - Accomplishments
- First proper dive trip - to the Ozzie Great Barrier Reef.
- Manage to squeeze in several dive trips to various Philippine Islands, and Taiwan locations.
- Learn to improve buoyancy, and through 2010 manage to shed 4kg weight from initial needs !
- Manage to get about half a dozen good underwater photos -from hundreds of attempts
- Log my 100th dive, all without problem ~ ok there was one with a rather fast ascent :confused4:
- Meet some great dive mates from Taiwan, Philippines, States, Germany etc
- Finally got ENT doc to sort out and carry out nasal surgery making my breathing 100 %
- Finally (last week) manage to finish some dives with more air left than my buddy
- Met many types of fish and totally enjoyed hours and hours underwater.

2011 Ambitions
- Obtain my Rescue Diver Certificate (and maybe maybe try for DM)
- Have more dives than 2010 and have all of them safely
- Swim with a Whale shark
- Get a dive trip to Sipidan + other new locations in Philippines
- Improve my underwater photography
- Learn the names of fish and creatures I see
- Keep hassling persons in Taiwan that "Shark Finning" is wrong and should be off food menus !
- Hope my $ investments sky rocket so I can retire young and spend more and more time diving
- Listen and Learn from other divers.
